Search Engine Promotion / Website Marketing

If you have an existing site which isn't appearing on the search engines as you would like, then we can help. Please note that this service is not the same as the ones you will see offering "submissions to 1000's of search engines" or "guaranteed top positions". What Others May Promise

Some so called Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO) companies will guarantee your site will be at the top of the list for your chosen searches. Aside from on the obvious "pay-per-click" engines where you pay them for position, and then every subsequent visitor generated - there is no way to guarantee such a result. Indeed, going over the top in trying to do so can be disastrous.

The Reality

Some of these companies will use underhand tactics such as text/links the same colour as the background, pages which are just full of keywords, and so on. The intention of this kind of tactic is to fool the search engines. Sometimes this will succeed for a while but sooner or later they will, almost without exception, catch up with you. At that point they will likely ban your site altogether. The search engines all employ filters to spot such underhand tactics, and even if something works for a while, the filter will at some stage be adapted to spot it - the first warning anyone has of this is when the site disappears from the search engine. Search engines also listen to their users, and if your site is reported as breaking their rules, then that can also see you blacklisted by that search engine.

First off, we will not do anything which is going to get your site banned by the search engines. We will research the keywords which people are most likely to use to find your type of business, as well as taking on board your feelings on which searches you would like to appear under. Of course, search engines tend to work in a certain way – and look for certain things - there is plenty of room to design pages which a search engine is going rank highly in its search results - without resorting to illegitimate tactics.
